  2. Hand oil pump, augments the standard pump for hard use at the discretion of the rider. Total loss oil system.

  3. I don't think they had a mechanical oil pump until the 1936 Knucklehead. That hand pump was it, and only on certain models. The split tanks had oil in one side that just drained down through the engine and leaked out the bottom. Some had a drain tube over the chain referred to as an automatic chain oiler. Pretty messy. Or I could be senile and full of crap. Eod1sg Ret
