And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Budapest is a lovely and interesting city. One of the small but important things I noticed and liked was their lack of the absurd "safety" regulations we have in North America.
It's a 10 or 12 foot straight drop into the river from the esplanade along the Danube where I walked, near parliament, and there were no railings. If you fall in you're stupid and deserve what you get. The skateboarders are more cautious, for sure. So was I.
