The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Sure, its more efficient than a single prop. You take the energy of the circular swirl (induced by the leading prop) and straighten it in the second prop - converting it to thrust. Same thing in gas tubine stages. THis is just open air.
