And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
As an engineer, no problems with the analog stuff for a system that HAS to work all the time. The control systems are solid, unless run by idiots. EMP, no issues.
Analog is well... analog. Analog is always good like you say in critical situations, even in glass cockpits you can see a few analog instruments. That brings up Spacex's Dragon, at first seeing it I was rather suspicious because everything all the conttrols, readouts, everything on that large liquid crystal control screen. Though SpaceX employs a lot of ground control, I wonder how the astronauts flying Dragon feel about that when first seeing the all glass controls. Must be a pretty decent system as that craft has an excellent flight record, to date 100% reliable, looks like the best that exists.
Push buttons & analog gauges- haha! 70’s??
